Xcel Digital Hub

The Xcel Digital Hub is the newest addition to the Xcel Youth Centre, designed to provide a dynamic space for Education, Training and Social Gaming. Located upstairs in our Youth Centre, the Hub offers a modern, flexible environment where young people can learn, connect, and grow.

A Space for Learning and Growth

At Xcel, we have always focused on three core themes: Activity, Employability, and Leadership. The Digital Hub continues this mission by giving young people access to technology, resources, and training opportunities they might not have at home. Whether exploring creative projects, learning new skills, or preparing for future employment, the Hub is a space to develop personal and professional potential.

What We Offer

The Xcel Digital Hub provides:

Enhanced Learning

Access online education, training programs, and short courses like ASDAN to complement mainstream education.

Skills Development

Use specialist equipment such as iMacs with creative software to explore careers and hobbies, from digital art to music production.

Social Interaction

Participate in group activities, online gaming, and peer mentoring in a safe, social environment.

The Hub is also flexible enough to support community education and training, offering local businesses and organisations a space for online learning and professional development.

A Place to Connect

Online gaming can often be a solitary experience, but the Xcel Digital Hub transforms it into a social, collaborative activity. Young people can meet like-minded peers, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and even take part in competitive gaming with future plans for an esports team.

With access to the full Youth Centre facilities and the support of our youth workers, the Hub complements all Xcel activities, creating a welcoming space for learning, creativity, and fun.

Supporting the Community

The Xcel Digital Hub is a resource for the whole community, offering young people and adults alike opportunities to learn, develop, and engage. From after-school programs to community training sessions, the Hub enhances the services we already provide at Xcel Youth Centre.

Our Progress

We have secured some of the funding required for the Digital Hub and are actively sourcing the remainder. The space is already taking shape with desks, chairs, LED lighting, and a wall-mounted TV. The next step is equipping the Hub with gaming PCs and creative technology to fully bring this exciting project to life.
